The myth that the statues of ancient Greece and Rome were white was created over time and upheld in part to serve racist ideological purposes. But in reality, ancient works of art were colorful, and even scented.

The term "literate" comes from the Latin littera, and would have meant formally educated. So even those who could read AND understand but who had not been to formal schooling would not be considered literate in the medieval sense. With formal education being expensive and restricted--usually only available to priests and nobles--we get our skewed statistics of the population being wildly illiterate. veritastabletop.com/talking-ab #history

Archaeologists have discovered that humans discovered metallurgy much earlier than previously thought. Hunter-gather societies worked copper as early as 9,000 years ago. This is thousands of years earlier than previously thought. Using advanced technology such as x-ray fluorescence spectroscopy it has been confirmed that copper smelting was much earlier, leading to a re-think of metallurgy history. archaeology.org/news/2025/03/1

--White House Press Secretary Boopsie Liesalot (Karoline Leavitt)

Is somebody going to tell her that our Continental Army fought with guns and uniforms made in France?

We also had a (likely) gay Prussian general lay the foundation for our army.

Times and countries change Boopsie.
