hobbsc<p>Looks like there's a similar ujust runner for <a href="https://social.sdf.org/tags/bazzite" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>bazzite</span></a> like the <a href="https://social.sdf.org/tags/bluefin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>bluefin</span></a> cli tool group: <a href="https://docs.bazzite.gg/Advanced/bazzite-cli/" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">docs.bazzite.gg/Advanced/bazzi</span><span class="invisible">te-cli/</span></a></p><p>Handy!</p><p>I just miss this stuff when I'm futzing around on a server but I suppose the ☁️ 🌻 CLOUD NATIVE 🌻 ☁️ response would be "why would you ever log into a server you absolute wet wipe?</p>
Em-squared<p>I am finding that using the <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Bluefin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Bluefin</span></a> atomic setup really great for just getting on with things. It's oddly disconcerting not to be bothered or alerted by the need to update things which just apply themselves in the background during future reboots.<br>It's come on in leaps and bounds from the last time i tried Ublue.<br><a href="https://universal-blue.org" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">universal-blue.org</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p>
Bob Dendry (Join Our Server!)<p>I got fed up with the constant issues with getting Pipewire Application Capture working on :bluefin_dino: Bluefin (GNOME) F41, so I decided to give :aurora: Aurora (KDE Plasma) a go.</p><p>And it works! It's... very different. I've used GNOME since the first time I tinkered with Ubuntu way back when I was 13 or 14, so it's certainly going to take some getting used to. I can see the appeal though.</p><p>Can I just say, being able to simply and easily rebase between different Univeral Blue variants made the switch such a pain- (and fear-) free experience - if it didn't work or I didn't like, just rebase back!</p><p><a href="https://masto.fediverse.games/tags/Bluefin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Bluefin</span></a> <a href="https://masto.fediverse.games/tags/Aurora" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Aurora</span></a> <a href="https://masto.fediverse.games/tags/uBlue" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>uBlue</span></a> <a href="https://masto.fediverse.games/tags/KDE" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>KDE</span></a> <a href="https://masto.fediverse.games/tags/KDEPlasma" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>KDEPlasma</span></a> <a href="https://masto.fediverse.games/tags/GNOME" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>GNOME</span></a></p>
Fedora Project<p>Bootc as a project is one with tons of promise and lots of community support. It's what is powering the next generation of Atomic Desktops, CoreOS, and Fedora IoT, not to mention all of the work that <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://fosstodon.org/@UniversalBlue" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>UniversalBlue</span></a></span> has done to show off everything that can be done today.</p><p>If you want to follow bootc more closely, regular updates from Fedora's end are shared here. :)</p><p>➡️ <a href="https://discussion.fedoraproject.org/tag/bootc-initiative" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">discussion.fedoraproject.org/t</span><span class="invisible">ag/bootc-initiative</span></a></p><p><a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/bootc" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>bootc</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Fedora" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Fedora</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/FedoraAtomic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>FedoraAtomic</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/uBlue" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>uBlue</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Bazzite" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Bazzite</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Bluefin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Bluefin</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Linux</span></a></p>
electragician<p>I put in a few hours of effort today to figure out lightning wallets, what the heck a satoshi is, podcast 2.0 apps, and a few other things, just to send a "Boost" to my favorite Linux podcast.</p><p>I did learn a bit, including how to run and interact with a container on Bluefin.</p><p>That said, I wasn't really looking to learn, I was just trying to give someone some cash in return for maybe reading a blurb that I sent in 😂 </p><p>I'm set now though. Sheesh.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/podcasts" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>podcasts</span></a> <br><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>linux</span></a> <br><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/bluefin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>bluefin</span></a></p>
these machines will destroy US.<p>Day 6 of using Bluefin. </p><p>Release stable-20250316.1 is out and all I had to do to get it is reboot my computer. </p><p>There is not a single OS that I know of that currently updates this smoothly. I think I have found my computing home. </p><p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://fosstodon.org/@ublue" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>ublue</span></a></span> <br><a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/bluefin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>bluefin</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/ublue" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ublue</span></a></p>
electragician<p>So, after a week of living with Project Bluefin on two machines, I think I'm ready for another week of living with Project Bluefin on two machines.</p><p>It's been simply flawless. </p><p>I've been trying out file sync solutions and though there's an awful lot to love about Nextcloud, I have determined that Syncthing is really all I need for my purposes around the house, between my iPhone and a couple of laptops.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>linux</span></a><br><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/bluefin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>bluefin</span></a> <br><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/syncthing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>syncthing</span></a></p>

Just so well thought out and straight forward.</p>
electragician<p>When exactly did KDE Connect / GSConnect actually become useful with iOS?</p><p>Holy mackerel that file push is handy, and if it hadn't been pre-installed on Project Bluefin I would have never known.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>linux</span></a><br><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/bluefin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>bluefin</span></a><br><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/fedora" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>fedora</span></a><br><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/silverblue" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>silverblue</span></a></p>
electragician<p>So, I have been using Project Bluefin the past few days, on two separate devices. </p><p>One is my now aging "gaming laptop" a circa 2018 nVidia Optimus equipped Dell G7, and the other an all Intel equipped Lenovo T14 that I bought used off eBay a couple years back.</p><p>So far I like everything about it... so much so that I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop and the suck to appear, but so far there's nothing but pleasant surprise after pleasant surprise.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>linux</span></a><br><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/bluefin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>bluefin</span></a><br><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/fedora" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>fedora</span></a><br><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/silverblue" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>silverblue</span></a></p>

Kyle Rankin<p>First impressions of my Framework 13 after using it throughout SCALE22x:</p><p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://fosstodon.org/@frameworkcomputer" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>frameworkcomputer</span></a></span> has done an incredible job here. I've been carrying this with me all weekend and using it in between talks and in the evening, in addition to using it for my presentation.</p><p>I'm convinced that this particular config (Ryzen 7040 and 2.8k screen) in this chassis is the best Linux laptop hardware you can get right now. Kyle Rankin<p>There are so many nice surprises in Bluefin where it's clear someone put that extra bit of care.
