I got fed up with the constant issues with getting Pipewire Application Capture working on :bluefin_dino: Bluefin (GNOME) F41, so I decided to give :aurora: Aurora (KDE Plasma) a go.

And it works! It's... very different. I've used GNOME since the first time I tinkered with Ubuntu way back when I was 13 or 14, so it's certainly going to take some getting used to. I can see the appeal though.

Can I just say, being able to simply and easily rebase between different Univeral Blue variants made the switch such a pain- (and fear-) free experience - if it didn't work or I didn't like, just rebase back!

Bootc as a project is one with tons of promise and lots of community support. It's what is powering the next generation of Atomic Desktops, CoreOS, and Fedora IoT, not to mention all of the work that @UniversalBlue has done to show off everything that can be done today.

If you want to follow bootc more closely, regular updates from Fedora's end are shared here. :)

Bazzite/Linux Steam people, have you seen this? It would appear something to do with Steam Input plus Flatpak means a DualShock 4 doesn’t work correctly in some games. I’ve personally seen this with Ultimate Chicken Horse on Bazzite, but someone is reporting the same thing with Museum of All Things from Flathub:

"You should just use #Ubuntu because it's the easiest one" - this is propaganda for #Shuttleworth and tells me you haven't tried any other distro - or that you use #Arch.

#LinuxMint is fantastic still, #Fedora is my go to recommendation, but with #uBlue and #Bazzite we see a new era of usability focused #distributions.

Add to that the fact that #snaps are a centralizes repository with no third party vendors, and you've got a #vendorlockin.

Ubuntu is the #anticonsumer distribution as a result.

There are five types of users who may try Linux instead of Windows, one a couple of distros for each one of them.

1. Complete newbies: ZorinOS
2. Students and office workers: VanillaOS
3. Windows refugees: Mint
4. Content creators: Mint, Fedora Workstation
5. Programmers: Universal Blue (Fedora Atomic)

Go ahead, change my mind.

Woo. #Kalpa schwag. If you happen to be attending #SCaLE socallinuxexpo.org/scale/22x this year, and want one of these, I'll have a limited number with me, they're 6" x 6".

You'll just have to *find* me and ask for them (There will be some other smaller ones at the openSUSE booth), I'll probably be between the #openSUSE, #Fedora, and #ublue camps if I'm out wandering.

I'd suspect I'll be the only guy with a Kalpa logo Shirt, but who knows.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but #System76 needs to rebase #PopOS. No shot, the current stable is 22.04... 22... 04.

#Ubuntu #Linux cannot be trusted, because snaps - and Shuttleworth - which means they have to go fully #Debian, which is respectable, but hear me out here...

#Arch + #ostree...

I can hear you booing from the back, and I can feel the glee of @BrodieOnLinux , but even though I like #Fedora I think competition is good and that #uBlue has that vector sown up. Also, #IBM.

Dear #linux #gaming enthusiasts,

I am currently putting together a first "gaming" machine for my son. Nothing fancy, due to money restrictions.

I came across a GPU from an older c't recommendation (German publication) and would like to ask for opinions and experiences with it when running on Linux. I guess I'll go with #kinoite #bazzite #ublue or #nobara.

The card is a MSI GeForce GT 1030 2GHD4 LP OC with a #nvidia GeForce GT 1030. I lost track of the many different options for Nvidia GPUs, with noveau and all of the different kernel drivers and whatnot.

Thanks in advance!
