In the 90s I loved that first Rentals record as I've mentioned- and the Rentals have like, this strange alternate version of it on Bandcamp (with a live version of Friends of P? And missing The Love I'm Searching For?), which is weird, but the version they have there has this song that was on the Friends of P single that I had back in the 90s-- it's called 'So Soon', and it's rad as fuck. The Moog hook, the simplicity. Man, those Rentals.

My young existence & relationships were so fucked up at the time, that TOO MUCH of this album made sense.
I felt everything Dulli was singing about.

THAT & the band were so unique & SO good, I hadn’t heard anyone like them. They’ve been with me my whole life, & Gentlemen has only gotten better.

These records are SO HARD and so musical. Nobody sounded like them. When a Helmet song came on, you knew it was them.

Page Hamilton is one of the most talented musicians the #90s ever gave us. Dude studied jazz guitar at Manhattan School of Music and got a master’s degree.
Helmet was just a drop in the bucket.

Of all the Mogwai albums I care to own, this was the only one I was missing, until I found it on my day trip to Victoria yesterday.
An excellent sounding reissue, particularly “Like Herod”, which sounds insane.

Forever my favorite Nine Inch Nails recording. Anything else in the catalog I’d pick would be a VERY distant 2nd.

This reissue sounds MONSTROUS, & the best thing about it is they included what were tracks 98 & 99 on the CD on a separate 7” single. One of them, a cover of Adam Ant’s “Physical”, is the ONLY version of that song.

Just a pummeling, noisy, 30 minute masterpiece.
