You wouldn’t guess it from Broadmeadows' reputation but the Jacana Wetlands portion of the area along Moonee Ponds Creek is rather pretty. It also has lots of interesting birds (who weren’t cooperating with being photographed today)

Walking down Flinders Lane in #melbourne on Thursday I spotted a familiar face. Someone I knew, but where from? He must've spotted me clocking him, as he walked past me and said "Hi!"

15 minutes later it came to me - The reddish tinged , slightly rotund face and short cropped hair - Mr Barnaby Joyce.

Isn't it amazing that he's here when the Grand Prix is on. Maybe I should've shown him a good gutter to take a phone call from.

After slipping on it it had occurred to me to wonder why the #melbourne CBD had the pavement it does. Turns out it’s because it’s water permeable to help the trees and reduce flooding

Verschwunden: Eine Quattroplatte von Amiga (anderswo EP genannt) mit Albert Hammond-Musik drauf. The Free Electric Band und It never rains in Southern California waren drauf. Vielleicht war ich 14, als ich sie geschenkt bekam?

Ob sie noch irgendwo in den unausgepackten Boxen ist?

And it never rains in Southern California ..

In #Melbourne hats gestern geregnet, heute ist es grau. Ich geh gleich raus, kauf Bagels und gucke nach, wie kühl es wurde.

Zuhause. Nostalgie. Sommerpause? Ende? Herbst?

Illegal rubbish dumping in Melbourne's western suburbs is a big problem. We also have a problem with people dumping wheelie bins from Moonee Valley and City of Melbourne on our City of Yarra Street corner. Sometimes people dump small skips there. As the article says, rubbish dumping is now part of the business model of some businesses.

At the root is a total disregard for the environment and the people who live in these rubbish dumping areas. It is horrible living amongst dumped rubbish.

And of course people dump lots of shopping trolleys. Our local Woolworths stopped providing trolleys for several months because so many were being dumped on the streets. Now they have provided trolleys but added electronic locks on them that jams the wheels at the exits of the shopping centre.
